Aging Services Information & Assistance

Our Aging Services Caseworkers provide information and assistance to help seniors enroll in public benefits and access numerous community services and resources, including:

  • Medicaid information and enrollment
  • Help choosing Medicare health insurance and drug coverage via our Health Insurance Information and Assistance (HIICAP) program
  • Assistance with food stamps and other public benefits
  • Information about programs that can assist seniors with the costs of basic living expenses
  • Referrals to transportation, meals on wheels, senior dining centers, and counseling programs within the Catholic Charities network

The Catholic Charities Senior Services programs are partially funded through the Schenectady County Department of Senior and Long Term Care Services with county tax dollars. State and Federal funding is also provided through the New York State Office for the Aging, the Federal Administration on Aging, and the United Way of the Capital Region.
